How Do You Choose?

There is no doubt about it, each day in Uganda our team members are faced with children who have very challenging circumstances. Sickness, disability, malnourished, no shelter, barely clothed.

Many of these stories you've seen in our weekly emails, and you've helped make an incredible difference!

It can be easy to feel overwhelmed and helpless.  In the remote villages where we work in Uganda, CLP is usually the only organization providing help to the most needy.

They’ll Light Up Your Day!

They’ll Light Up Your Day!

Pure joy! That's what you see on Tikah's and little Musa's faces when Hilda and Aminsi delivered food and clothes to them this week!  Baby Sarah was a little unsure .

Tikah is a young mother who has been struggling to provide for Musa and baby Sarah since being abandoned by the children's father.  They were down to eating one small meal a day when our team put in the request for help. We posted the project on our crowdfunding site, Donorsee.

Real People, Real Stories

Real People, Real Stories

The other day I saw a news report about many of those “feel good” stories you see on social media. Evidence shows that most are AI generated and not actually true.

Well, all of our posts and stories are about real people, real situations, and real hope, and that hope is thanks to all of you!

This week Hilda brings you Namugele Maureen's story. It is one of unimaginable tragedy and struggle. But thanks to the help she receives from our Girls' Vocational Center, it's also one of hope.

Wisdom from Ruth

Wisdom from Ruth

This week, we're bringing you another story from one of our girls in Uganda.

Ruth's father loved her very much and tried to give her a good life. But when he was away from their home for work, Ruth's stepmother was very mean to her.

Knowing When to Pivot

One of the practices I'm most proud of at CLP is our ability to respond quickly to needs and pivot and make changes in our programs when we find a better way.

In daily communication with our team in Uganda, they let me know the progress of our programs and where we need to make changes. I let them know how fundraising is going and we review our budget.

This is how we work from the inside out. Our team lives the reality each day and knows the challenges that children and families face. They experience in real time how an increase in prices, or an illness, affects a family, wiping out their financial resources, leaving them without food or

Pay Day

Pay Day

Seeing the reaction when one of our woman business owners, like Keziya above, gets paid for her hard work fills me with joy, and I hope it does the same for you.  Your support is what makes this happen! This week, the weavers in our women's Kisakyamukama business group received cash in hand from the sale of several of their baskets and other items.  This is one of the groups selling at our craft store in Kamuli town.
