Growing Forward

Racheal now has the supplies to start a business and support her children!

2025 is halfway over! Whaaat!!!

Because of all of you, lives are better for so many!  The need remains great, but with you as our partners, we are making progress!

As we look ahead, our focus remains on education and on sustainable programs that enable people to support themselves and live without aid.

With the success of our existing women's savings and business groups, we are going to expand the scope by adding groups and members and include more business education. The budget for this is 5,220,000 Ugandan Shillings, which equals $1500 USD.

This investment will positively impact over 50 women-led households! Our team has a detailed procedure for qualifying members who will receive business loans and a repayment process. The interest paid gets reinvested into the group. The members are very organized, support each other, and hold each other accountable.

In August, the students you've helped send to school this year will start their third term! They have all been working hard on their studies and are very grateful to all of you.

So far this year 200+ girls have received period supply kits, and reproductive health classes. This program addresses one of the major causes of poverty in rural Uganda. Girls are able to stay in school, and learn their rights and how to advocate for themselves.  We'll be adding a small machine that will make it easier to put the snaps onto the reusable pads. This will make it less expensive and faster to make the pads so we can get kits to more girls. The cost for this machine is $120.

Thirty girls continue their education in tailoring and hairdressing at our Girls' Vocational Center in Buwudha Village.  Our craft cooperative store is continuing to operate. This has been a learning experience and we continue to adjust and improve. Some of our teen girls in the tailoring program are now working at the store.

This is Ruth, Janet, and Mangere along with baby Nelson learning business skills and working at the craft store.

The businesses we start will all eventually be self-sustaining!

If you'd like to invest in the future of the girls by funding the business group or the button machine, it's easy to donate on our website! Any amount helps!

We are all so incredibly grateful for all you do, and that we get to see the generosity, kindness, and humanity of others. It truly keeps us going.

 With Gratitude,

 Mary
