Dignity and Freedom

Resty is one of the new students in the tailoring program at our Center. She's helping to make the bags for the hygiene kits.

I'm so happy to share that 60 girls at Butende Primary School in Primary 6 and 7 will receive their new hygiene kits!

This is the first group of the 200 girls who will receive kits as a result of our Ticket to Dignity campaign.

Hilda and the girls at our Vocational Center have been hard at work making the reusable pads and bags, and gathering the other supplies that go into each kit.

This is a win all around. The girls at our center are earning income by making the pads, and younger girls are receiving the support they need to stay in school.

Reproductive health classes will also be led by Nurse Lucy. Along with learning about their health, the girls are taught about their rights and where they can go for help. They also have the opportunity to meet privately with Lucy if they want to talk through personal concerns.

We are now expanding the program even further. A few of the older girls at Butende will be trained as peer mentors so they can support and encourage the younger girls.

You make so much possible, and it's exciting to see how quickly your support is already making a difference. With the systems in place, our team is able to take action right away.

Thank you for being part of this!

With gratitude,

Mary
