Babies, Baskets, and Bags!
Thanks to our wonderful donors, teen mom Joan was able to have a healthy delivery in a clinic. Both she and baby Sulaiman are doing well. This would not have been possible without your support, and yes, I want to tell you once again that you make a lifesaving difference!
Once Joan is ready, she will be resuming classes in hairdressing at our Girls' Vocational Center.
Baby Tracy is also doing well after being born prematurely to her 12-year-old mother, Immaculate. Even as I say those words, it's still hard to imagine all she has been through. Again, thanks to your support, baby Tracy is getting fortified formula and has the needed supplies to be healthy and safe. She now has that cute baby chubbiness!
I posted a few weeks ago that we have been able to expand our space and now have a room for the babies and toddlers to be safe, nap, and have some healthy snacks while their moms are learning. We're continuing to raise funds for mattresses, baby supplies, and some toys and books for the children.
On to baskets! Many of you have been asking how to get some of the baskets that our women in Uganda have made. Thanks to our board member Colleen Brady, I'm happy to say that I now have several baskets in different sizes here in the US. I also have a few hot pads. These are great to either use or display. My daughter has hers hanging on a wall in her house.
I also have several reusable shopping bags in nice, bright African fabrics that the girls in our tailoring course have made.
All the donations raised from the products go directly to the women and girls.
You can check out the video that shows what I have, and if you're interested in any of the items, just send me an email (mary@ourclp.org). For most of you in VT and NC, I can deliver, and for those in other US states, I can ship. (For those of you in Europe, I can check on the shipping costs.)
Our team in Uganda has been very busy with the growth of our programs and outreach. They continue to work on the most sustainable solutions to help people live independently. I'll be sharing more with you in the coming weeks.
Thank you for all you do to help the most vulnerable children! Your donations are truly making a difference.
With Gratitude,
Mary
P.S.- We would love to partner with businesses who want to have a social impact by supporting the work of our foundation. If you are a business owner, or know of one who would like to learn more about CLP, send me an email.
