A Future for Phiona

Thanks to so many of you, we are one-third of the way to our goal to fund 30 girls through our Her Future Starts Now campaign giving them access to an education in tailoring or hairdressing!

You've made it possible for 10 girls to learn and have a chance at a better future! 

This week, I wanted to share Phiona's story with you. 

At just 14, Phiona was forced into marriage after being exploited for food to survive. Violence and loss followed her through childhood until she made one brave decision: to walk away and start over with her two young children.

When Phiona met Shamim, one of our beloved community advocates, everything changed. Shamim told her about our Girls' Vocational Center, where she could learn hairdressing and build a life free from abuse.

Today, Phiona is thriving in our training program. She dreams of opening her own salon and teaching her sons to respect women. Most of all, she finally believes her future, and her children's future, can look different.

Because of donors like you, Phiona had a safe place to turn.

Because of you, she's rewriting her story.

But there are still 20 girls waiting. 

We've seen the difference our program makes when the girls get the support they need. And - sadly, we've seen what happens when they don't find us in time.

It's easy to donate, and any amount makes a difference- truly-$10, $15, or $25- it's what we all do together that matters.

Our new term starts on January 5th.  Help us reach every girl still waiting for her chance.
